Using Images
Pictures do attract plenty of attention! If done correctly and in quantity, using images provides the potential buyer a visual step in the purchasing process by helping explain details and more importantly stimulates their desire which leads to a successful sale.
This simple bit of knowledge has allowed many sellers to push their final selling prices up on average between 10%-30% and as such it's amazing that so many listings do not include at least one picture, many sellers' just type out the details in one long sentence (usually all in capitals!). There are perhaps many of you that have started off using an outside image hosting service to include extra images in your listings! For those Biker Bids members, we don't require (but do allow) an outside image hosting service. Every seller on Biker Bids is allowed to upload 10 images per listing--Free Of Charge--and the images are hosted on the Biker Bids website!
Please note the following:
- Always make sure that the image is clear and of the actual item for sale, otherwise what is the point of including it? You will find that poorly presented pictures are poorly representing your listing and suggest that the seller doesn't care! This sends a clear signal to any prospective buyer a devaluation of the listing!
- Never use a stock photograph of the item for sale, with the increase in fraudulant transactions (especially on the higher value items) this will only put the seasoned buyer off, again serving to devalue your final selling price. By taking a little extra time to get an actual photograph shows your buyers that you care and will endear them to you.
- Whenever possible, it's best use a digital camera, these are very easily accessable and relatively inexpensive anymore. A webcam can also be used but does give a grainier picture. Remember the cost of the digital camera can be offset by the gain in final selling price(s).
- Have good lighting on your images! A poorly lit image again sends a message to the buyer of "I don't care".
- Never just use one image, always use at least two to three from varying angles. Many sellers tend to use one image for every one of the details (or faults) that are mentioned in the listing. This illustrates what you are actually trying to describe and helps to prevent the negative feedback 'the item wasn't as described'.
As sellers' are beginning to realize, it is smart business to use Biker Bids's additional picture service (upload up to 10 images for each listing - FREE!) which will increase your profit and cut down your cost as opposed to other auction sites.
Additionally, after doing some homework, many sellers' have learned that the answer to many of their problems was using HTML to generate a template for their listings which allows you to pull your images into the listing without having to use an image service, it's still going cost to host your own images but no where near what eBay charges their sellers'.
Please Note: The Biker Bids selling process allow sellers' to choose from more than 70 pre-designed templates with many more on the way! Totally Free!
We hope that these simple bits of advice will assist you in taking advantage of using Biker Bids and really start developing your profits!
